Health and safety are central to the modern constructor, civil engineer or contractor. As body builders we must play our part in producing safe equipment. Often, thoughtful design can produce health and safety benefits without additional cost.

At Abba we offer automated tailgate locking and opening, reverse camera options and automatic sheeting, many of these things are now common in our industry.

Some health and safety developments are obvious, some less so. We try to minimise deck heights and to radius edges and corners. We avoid finger traps where ever possible. Our drop sides are made with a single panel, there are no exposed joints to become ragged in use. Body props are standard on the “Workstation” range of product.

Access is the area in which we have made the biggest advances, we are the only UK body builder to provide three points of contact access systems to fixed side, drop-side and platform bodies. We have two patent applications in place against our truck body access. Predator is offered with safe access as standard.

We work with many household names in the world of civil engineering, it is by close cooperation with our customers, taking an interest in their health and safety problems, and working with them to solve those problems that we manage to innovate in this area.
