Predator - Health & Safety
About Gallery Health & Safety Insulated Options Grab Cranes

Predator has been designed to be safe to operate, safe to access, and safe to members of the public.

Predator is designed to have a low centre of gravity. It is constructed using the best materials available and does not distort, in addition to this, the body profile is constant, with no reduction in the rear aperture, the result is exceptional load clearance. The less time the body is in the air and the sooner the materials start to discharge the safer the tip.

The biggest single safety advance is the Predator safe access system, (Patent applied for). The access system is stowed under the body, it is drawn outwards and rotated for use. The ladder operates at 90 degrees to the body, requiring the climber to turn 90 degrees rather than 180 degrees with a traditional ladder. Three points of contact are maintained throughout the climb, internal hand and foot holds are optional. Safe access is standard on Predator.

Predator is supplied with a link tail-gate hinge system, the tail-gate can be easily opened by the operator for cleaning. The more common boomerang style hinge is dangerous by comparison and almost impossible to open without the body partially tipped.

Predator sides and tailgate are finished in an inverted vee profile to help minimise materials dislodging during transport.

Finally a plethora of options are available at the operators discretion many of which contribute to safer operations. These include automatic tailgate release and actuation, reverse and load view cameras, beacons and strobe lamps, chapter eight reflective boards, inclinometers and many others.

At Abba we are always keen to develop safer tipping bodies, and are keen to engage with our customers to this end, if you have an idea to make tipping bodies safer, give us a call.
