At Abba we believe we have the best and most modern range of tipping bodies in the UK market place. In order to produce good quality repeatable product, a cohesive process, starting with design, and ending with a satisfied customer must be the aim.
The key is carefully targeted investment, investment in people and in equipment.
Abba bodies are designed, drawn and analysed using our state of the art "solid works" drawing package. Bodies are produced in 3D format, and can be manipulated on screen in order to explore component suitability, functionality, and aesthetics.
The 3D drawing package downloads information directly onto our profiling equipment, purchased in 2006. Our profiling capacity is 8m x 2.5m, enabling us to profile in a single section any body component we choose. The process is fast, CNC controlled, and accurate to 0.2 of a millimetre.
The next stage of the process is forming, to which end we have procured a new CNC controlled hydraulic Press brake. The press is 8m long, and has 600 tonnes of pressing capacity. It is the most modern and advanced machine in the UK body building industry, ideally suited to accurately forming the Brinnell 450 plate in which we specialise.
Additional investments include new factory floor space at St Helens, a major expansion in Dover, new “low bake” painting facilities in Dover, with similar equipment arriving soon in St Helens. Our partner in Scotland Eftee metal bodies have also invested in new factory space in order to accommodate production of Predator north of the border.
