This section relates to lorry loader supply and installation excluding grab loaders. We offer an extensive range of grab cranes combinations for both Workstation and Predator. To access these sections please use the icons below.

Abba is very much a one stop shop for the construction and contracting sectors.

We offer a wide range of specialist bodywork almost to varied to describe. We build from 3.5 Tonnes gross and offer loaders from .5 metre tonne. On smaller vehicles the crane will often be incorporated into the deck of the body. For these type of applications we offer product from Penny Hydraulics and Hiab

At 7.5 to 18 tonnes we offer Beaver tail transporters, builders merchants distribution vehicles as well as more specialised site refuellers and maintenance vehicles. Frequently vehicles of this ilk require the installation of lorry loaders.

We work closely with the crane manufacturers as well as relying on our own experience to give good advise in this area.

When specifying a lorry loader many things must be taken into consideration. First and foremost the required lift and the radius from the vehicle it is to be attached to. This criteria will dictate the minimum size of the vehicle required. Further considerations will include the required payload of the completed vehicle, and where the crane should be mounted on the chassis in order to facilitate loading or unloading the required commodity.

Our partners on builds of this type are primarily HMF, Hiab and PM. As with most products different manufacturers have strengths and weaknesses in particular areas, the amount of cycles envisaged, the Tare weight of the actual crane, the availability of parts and back up, price and availability all play their part in the final selection.

Often the procurement of specialist equipment is by its very nature a "one off" or small quantity purchase, as such the risks for the buyer of getting it wrong are higher. Our experience can negate much of that risk, in addition at Abba it is a pre-requisite when selecting partners that they deal quickly and efficiently with problems when they occur.

Above 18 Tonnes GVW we offer beaver tail transporters, cabin transporters, generator transporters, as well as "brick and block" transport.

We install Lorry loaders up to 80 Metre tonne in this category, loaders utilised for some of the most extreme requirements of the construction industry.

In this area our advanced manufacturing equipment once again comes into its own. On almost all occasions when mounting lorry loaders, a helper frame or sub-frame must be installed onto the truck chassis prior to crane fitment. This sub-frame combines with the original truck chassis to create a structure strong enough to resist the load to be it imposed from above and the torsional load generated during the lifting process.

When the sub-frame is installed by a crane importer, or third party, they have little interest in the body, which is to be installed later. At Abba we use our profiling and pressing equipment to produce sub-frame sections, pre pierced to accept body cross-members, the route to a genuinely integrated structure. Benefits include lower deck heights and reduced Tare weight. We are the only UK body builder to offer this service using in house equipment.

Once again our partners in this sector are HMF, Hiab and PM, we also install Fassi and Hyva (Amco Vaber) on occasion.

There are a huge variety of options available with lorry loaders, radio remote controls, all manner of safety devices, especially relating to outrigger legs and their stowage, also access and operating positions. These are best discussed around a specific requirement. In addition to the loader itself a huge variety of handling and manipulation equipment can be installed. Here we work primarily with Kinshoffer.

Whether a large loader or small, all are rigorously tested and certificated prior to release from our plants.
